This new company came about when two completely different companies, Costaguta and Martinoli, both vastly experienced in different fields of this sector, merged to strongly complement each other in the provision of fully comprehensive services for the would-be yacht owner.

The Costaguta family has always played a leading role in the history of Italian yachting. From the early 19th century, when the first racing yachts were built in its Genoa-Voltri shipyard for H.M. The Duke of Abruzzi, the tradition continued, right through to the planning and building of the 8mtr "S.I.Italia" (winner of the Olympic Gold medal in 1936). The next step was the design and construction of mega-yachts (both fast and displacement hulls) in major Italian and overseas shipyards. Despite the strong family tradition, one of the descendants chose to enter the world of commerce, and in 1970 opened his own international financial consultancy, "Dottori Commercialisti e Associati" in Genoa. Since then the firm became increasingly important in international financial planning operations, specializing particularly in the shipping and shipbuilding sectors. Today, numerous Italian and overseas companies rely on this professional firm for their financial and fiscal planning, especially since tax obligations have now become one of the most important components in current production costs.

The Martinoli Group has, for many generations, been renowned and respected for its technical consultancy expertise and its quality shipping services. These services were mainly focused on the cruise, merchant shipping and leisure-craft sectors. The Group is highly experienced in meeting all demands for the leisure-craft and larger yacht markets. In particular, knowledge of international rules, safety standards, reliability and availability in the markets, earned the solid, synchronized Martinoli Group an undisputed reputation for quality and reliable services. Numerous cruise operators employ this group for the demanding management of their vessels and today, the Group is one of the largest independent technical managers of its kind.
