ISM & ISPS CODES

Even prior to their implementation, CM-Y was, naturally, fully conversant with both these codes and we diligently apply them in cooperation with the relevant approval authorities for our Ship Management Service. We'll be pleased to answer any questions you may have and guide you on their correct implementation.

International Safety Management Code is a ship management system embracing quality control in the areas of safety and pollution prevention.

Since July, 2000 it is a legal requirement for all charter yachts of over 500 GT.

The ISM Code applies a more restrictive criteria regarding:· Management of the yacht · Application of approved procedures for the various operating phases · Choice of and engagement of crew · Maintenance program · Onboard Audits · Emergency Procedures and Safety with specific requirements for archiving and handling of related documentation.

The ISPS code (effective since 01.July, 2004) for all yachts over 500 gross tons.

The ISPS Code essentially concerns security issues both in port and when sailing.
